First Presbyterian Church
Hugo, Oklahoma
July 26, 2009
First
Presbyterian Church, Hugo, is a small church with a large heart. We
exist to worship and glorify God, to develop and encourage disciples, to
welcome all of God’s children, to be faithful stewards of all God’s
gifts, and to exhibit the love and grace of God in the church and in the
world. (*
Please stand if you are able) * Praise Hymn “Glorify Thy Name” (Sing the Faith) # 2016 Tolling of the Bell Announcements Welcome and Greeting One Another: We extend a warm welcome to each of
our visitors. It is our prayer that you sense the Spirit of Christ among
His people as we greet one another and worship together. If anyone has a
special prayer request, please hand a note to the pastor at this time. * Gathering “Antiphonal Praise” Women: We worship you, Men:

Call to Worship:
Leader:
Look to the holy one in whom steadfast love and faithfulness meet. People:
To the gracious one who gives what is good. Unison:
Let us worship God. *

with God”

Call to Confession *
Prayer of Confession: (Unison) You
call us to fullness of life, gracious God, through Christ who emptied self
for our sakes. We are just empty from trying to fill ourselves. We have
overextended more than our credit. We spend on ourselves, until we are
exhausted. However full of good thoughts we are, we are often casually
thoughtless of others. We are full of marvelous talk about faith, hope and
love, but wonder, where’s the belief? *
Silent Prayer of Confession and Personal Reflection *
Assurance of Pardon: Leader:
God cancels the burden of our sin. People:
In the cross of Christ, God reaches across the distance that separates us
from God and from one another. Unison:
In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven and are being brought to fullness of
life. *
